E1200-320 adding a host via cli

I have an e1200-320 and need to add a host via the cli.  I understand all the required fields apart from the "Host-id".  The example in the manual shows 0000ef but I have no idea where that comes from.

 

Anyone know what this is and how to find it for HP-Ux and Wintel?
