Eject Problems for StorageWorks DAT 160 USB tape drvie
Dear all,
I am using HP data protector express 3.50-sp2, and I found a little yellow exclamation mark on my device. Does anyone can tell me what that means?
I also tried to eject the media from the tape drive but the tape drive didn't respond. I even tried a forced eject, and also get no response. I don't know if the media has been damaged and stuck in the tape drive. Does anyone know any other ways to get the media out from the tape drive?
Thanks a lot.
kenny

Re: Eject Problems for StorageWorks DAT 160 USB tape drvie
Hi,
I would recommend you to update DPE 3.5-sp2 with "hot fix" from this link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=1144272&prodNameId=1144275&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=co-58946-1
But you should troubleshoot the hardware as well.
Make sure the OS is able to see the tape drive. You can you use L&TT to troubleshoot.
You can visit the following link for guided troubleshooting: http://h20499.www2.hp.com/gts/sparks/public/Storage_PL3C_Tape_DDS_PUB_EN?lang=en&cc=us&product=Storage&series=na&subseries=na&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=3438737
