Error 1040: No devices specified or all devices are now offline

I'm getting this error when trying to backup files.

At the first time I worked properly but after that I haven't had success, I'm running version 4.00 sp1 and this is a USB 72GB unit, could someone help me?

When I erased the tape, it worked again, but I think tomorrow when it'll run again, the same error will appear.
