How to Config Ultrium 2-SCSI Driver via Fibrebridge connected to a SAN switch ?

I have a STK L20-20 Library with a HP Ultrium 2-SCSI Driver. We connected the library to a SAN switch via Fibrebridge. My ES40 server has a FC HBA also joined the SAN switch. I cannot see the Library and Ultrium 2-SCSI Driver on the Console of my ES40. I get the below information via “WWIDMGR –SHOW WWID”
AlphaServer ES40 Console V7.3-1, built on Feb 27 2007 at 12:57:47

I think the item 8 and 9 must be the Lib and driver. Beause of the wrong UDID numbers they cannot be used in OpenVMS. How to config their UDID numbers similar to ‘OS UNIT ID’ in EVA Storage? I should work with the Fibrebridge or the Lib or both.

Re: How to Config Ultrium 2-SCSI Driver via Fibrebridge connected to a SAN switch ?

From (brain) memory:

Tape drives and robotics do not provide UDIDS and are not configured with WWIDMGR, but from OpenVMS. After connection, do once:
SYSMAN> IO FIND_WWID
SYSMAN> IO AUTOCONFIGURE

The WWNs/device names are then visible in SYS$COMMON:[SYSEXE]SYS$DEVICES.DAT
.
