how to present a FC tape library to a Virtual guest
Hi All,
We have an Itanium server running HP-UX 11.31 and acting as Virtual Host to a HP-UX and Windows virtual guests. The host can detect the FC tape libraries with below details:
# ioscan -fnC tape
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
==================================================================
tape 0 0/4/0/0/0/0.51.8.255.0.0.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/0m /dev/rmt/0mnb /dev/rmt/c6t0d0BESTn
/dev/rmt/0mb /dev/rmt/c6t0d0BEST /dev/rmt/c6t0d0BESTnb
/dev/rmt/0mn /dev/rmt/c6t0d0BESTb
tape 2 0/4/0/0/0/0.51.10.255.0.0.0 stape CLAIMED DEVICE HP Ultrium 3-SCSI
/dev/rmt/2m /dev/rmt/2mnb /dev/rmt/c7t0d0BESTn

I am getting error when i tried to present the tape to the guest hosts. Anybody know how?

- magnetic tape:
tape:scsi::attach:/dev/pt/pt_tape#
For media changers:
changer:scsi::attach:/dev/pt/pt_autoch#
