How to "reformat" or "reset" or empty tapes?

Hello

We have an HP LTO Ultrium-3 drive and I have just reinstalled Symantec Backup Exec 2010. 

Now I want to use these tapes again but now they're marked as "Retired Media".

I want to empty them and start over.

How do I do this?

This is more of a Backup Exec question not HP, but as I know the product, you need to move the tapes from the Retired Media set to the Scratch Media set which should make them overwritable.
Then do either a long or quick erase on them...
