Who can tell me durability of the components in the HP C5686A?
Component life:
Start/stop - max number of operations?
Reposition cycles - max number of operations?

Hello 100_5_ultra,
This DDS-4 drive has a MTBF rating of 250,000 hours at a 30% duty cycle. The tape drive support ticket extracted using Library and Tape Tools should give you further details about the overall health status of the drive.
Some of the parameters are ::
1. Load/unload cycle.
2. Head life.
3. Read/Write performance.
