HP C7421A surestore ultrium 215 not performing backups
Good morning everyone,
I have a HP C7421A surestore ultrium 215 not performing backups, I recently purchased it as working to replace my defective DDS tape drive.
When I run the HP StorageWorks library and tape tools 4.5 SR1 I get the report below:
Is there any way to revive this tape drive?
Else I'm thinking of returning it to the seller but I prefer not to do so because it was a nice deal.
Cleaning doesn't help, I even got a brand new cleaning cartridge and tried with 4 different data cartridges.
The firmware is up to date, all connections are clean, even the tape labels are recognized.
Thanks for any help on this issue is appreciated very much!
PS: If it needs factory repairs, how much would this cost? Can I extend the warranty for this repair? How can I check if this unit has some warranty left?

That tape drive its not fit for purpuse, you need to replace it also you can call the parts team they will buy you this broken tape drive and sell you either a new one or refurbish one.
