HP Colorado Memory Systems Trakker 350 Data Compatibility with Trakker 250 3M DC2120
Hi,
I wonder if you can please help or point us in the right direction, ASAP.
Many years ago, using a Colorado Trakker 250 tape drive, we have backed up data on mini 3M DC2120 data cartridge using the factory supplied software. We are considering purchasing a Coloardo Trakker 350 from USA and would really appreciate your kind help:-
- Will the mini 3M DC2120 data cartridges physically fit in to Colorado Trakker 350 tape drive, ie. designed to work?
- If it does fit, will the Colorado Trakker 350 factory supplied backup software be able to read-write data from the mini 3M DC2120 data cartridge?
- Or else, will the Colorado Trakker 250 factory supplied backup software work the the Colorado Trakker 350 tape drive, in order to retrieve the data?
- The Trakker 350 will be shipped from USA and therefore will the Colorado Trakker 350 (or even Trakker 250) factory supplied AC power adapter work with UK Mains 240v, ie. auto-switching power supply?
Many thanks in advance, for all your kind support.
With kind regards,
Neeraj Sharma.

Re: HP Colorado Memory Systems Trakker 350 Data Compatibility with Trakker 250 3M DC2120
Hello @nsharma1008,
Colorado Trakker is a very old system. I tried, but could hardly find any details. Please check if you find any relevant information in this document - https://docs.rs-online.com/527f/0900766b8002abeb.pdf
Generally in any HP/HPE systems of the same product line, drive compatibility will be standard. To be 100% sure about it, I think best way is to compare the drive's physical dimensions and slot design- of both trakker 250 and trakker 350.

this may help
https://manualzz.com/doc/22961205/hp-colorado-and-hp-surestore-tape-drive-user-s-guide
"In addition to the tapes in the above table, the T1000, T3000, T4000, 5GB, 8GB, or 14GB tape drives can also read from but not write to backup tapes made using Colorado Backup software and a Jumbo 250, 350, 700, 1400; Trakker 250, 350, 700; T1000; or T3000 tape drive."

Re: HP Colorado Memory Systems Trakker 350 Data Compatibility with Trakker 250 3M DC2120
Hi Srinivas,
Thank you for your reply. It appears that the Trakker 350 supports the 3M mini data cartridges DC2120., used with the Trakker 250. Will Trakker 350 backup software read the stored data created by Trakker 250 backup software. Or can you use the Trakker 250 backup software with the Trakker 350 tape unit?
Many thanks in advance, for all your kind support.
With kind regards.
