Hp Dat 40 driver

Hello, I hope HP reads these forums. I have tried installing a HP Surestore DAT40 External scsi tape drive on 2 different systems. 1 is a windows 2003 server and the other is a windows xp machine. I downloaded the lastest drivers for both systems and tried to install them on both. Neither machine can see any selection from the hpdat.inf file. Nothing at all. There is obviously a problem with these drivers.

Greets Harley,

Does Windows have the SCSI card driver loaded correctly and does Windows identify an 'unknown' device in Windows Device Manager ?

What exactly do you mean with "Neither machine can see any selection from the hpdat.inf file." ?

Re: Hp Dat 40 driver

The scsi card sees the tape drive just fine. A adaptec 2940w. Neither xp sp3 or w2k3 sp2 see the tape drive at all. When I tried to install new hardware through control panel manualy I selected the hpdat.inf file and it doesn't give a list of anything after it reads it.
