HP DAT 72X10 Autoloader / SBS 2003 Trouble
Hi NG.
We bought a new Autoloader 72x10 from HP
I'm sorry to say, but it is a big mess.
For six weeks I try now to make backups with it and it mostly fails to find the next tape.
Trying to write free media label to the tape
will make the Autoloader unaccessible.
RMS will become blocked, LLT will crash or continuous scanning for devices (yes, I did stop RMS before). In the computer administration the drive will become red-marked and will show a second HP-tape drive outside the Autoloader. The drive icon inside the autoloader tree is inactive. Some times the Autoloader shows a yellow "!" in the device manager. Since this the second device we try and the second controller we try, I'm absolutely confused and I don't know any further. Additional, the replacement drive we got, wants the cleaning tape several times a week (without doing much). The tapes we use are from HP and they are new (second box we try). Here I am near loosing my job, because it was expensive, it is not working, I spend a lot time with it and we are still unsaved.
Please tell me, what can I do?
Florian
