HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Ultrium 920 SAS Autoloader
HI
My name is Samphors.
1-now i have problem with HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 Ultrium 920 SAS Autoloader.I can Compress Tap Cartridge from 400GB to 800GB.how can i compress tap cartridge from 400GB to 800GB?
Note: my Data Cartridge 800GB. HP LTO3 Ultrium RW.
2-I can not restore back by selection tap?
what sould i need to do for restore data by selection tap cartridge?

You need to say what software you are using.
Your backup software must turn on compression.

Hi Samphors:
Not all data files on your computer can be easily compressed. In general, you should be able to get the native capacity of LTO3 tape drive of 400GB per tape cartridge. Usually Large database files and text files are easy to compress. Small files and files that are already compressed files give you very lowest data compression.
Data Protector Express software by default uses the tape drive hardware compression setting. Note: tape drive hardware compression is normally the most efficient for backup performance. Software compression can give slower backup throughput performance because of the server overhead.
If you want you can turn the Data Protector Express software compression on the Encryption/Compression page of the backup job properties.
Also, you should upgrade DPX to the latest hotfix version of DPX 3.5 SP2 Build 37634 as there were some fixes in this latest version.
