Hello,
I would like to connect my MSL6030 via FC direct to an HBA. In that way, I have to configure the FC-Port to Autosensing.
If I configure that on the web-interface, the setting return to the factory default after reboot. If I configure that via Telnet, then I can just read the error message "Could not save data".
Why that Interface-card not save the settings? What do I wrong? Has anyone any idea what could be the problem?
Regards
Micha

Re: HP StorageWorks e1200-320 could not save data
I would try a reset to defaults first:
1) Baud Rate Configuration
2) Ethernet and SNMP Configuration
3) Fibre Channel Configuration
4) Parallel SCSI Configuration
5) Device Mapping
6) Trace and Event Settings Configuration
7) Real-Time Clock Configuration
8) Active Fabric Configuration
A) Save Configuration
B) Restore Last Saved Configuration
C) Reset to Factory Defaults
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP StorageWorks e1200-320 could not save data
Sorry, but Reset to Factory Defaults didn't solve the problem.
After the Reset and Reboot I get the error message again, if i type A - Save Configuration.

Re: HP StorageWorks e1200-320 could not save data
Firmware 5.9.63 is installed. If I try to connect the card via ftp, I don't get a directory listing.
Befehl: LIST
Antwort: 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection
Antwort: 550 No files found or invalid directory or permission problem
Fehler: Verzeichnisinhalt konnte nicht empfangen werden
Can I "format/recover" the flash or is the flash corrupted?

However, I was able to download the file curtrace.txt but not the file prvtrace.txt. Would it make sense to reinstall the firmware?

Did you use "root" as the user?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Solutionim not sure why it would say "cant save data" but when i have configured these in the past i have had to unplug the fiber cable, then save the config, reboot the card and then plug in the fiber cable. for some reason the config doesnt save when the cable is plugged in.
