hp ultrium 1x8 G2 AUTOLDR not using all free space on tape
Hello,
We currently using a hp ultrium 1x8 G2 AUTOLDR with LTO3 800GB tapes. My backup sw is CA Arcserve.
We can't understand why the library during the backup occupy approximately only 300 Gb of tape space on the 800 Gb available. How can is possible?!? Maybe the library can't correctly recognize the dimension of tape?

800GB is a marketing value ...

This is my first experience with this hw and I'm just a bit confused about it
I have this kind of tape: http://img.misco.eu/resources/images/products//210/HWP/C7/C7973A/C7973A_14_1600x1600.jpg
The capacity of 800 Gb is specified on the tape, is not the real capacity available?
However: we can backup on the tape 300 GB, so 100 GB still missing... is there an explanation?
