Hi Ahmed,

Did you try to clean up the tape drive? See if this works. Also to isolate, can you test this tape on another drive?

Thank you mr.Mohan,
Yes I cleaned the drive with a cleaning tape but it was ineffective. I don't have another device in the same series to check . I have ultrium 440 tape drive which support 400 GB and it is working fine. I tried to use 400 GB(LTO 2 ,I think), it also gives the same error.

Hi Abdul,
(sorry i got your name wrong earlier)

Have you isolated the problem to the drive or the tape?

Easiest way to check the drive is to run Library and Tape Tools (http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools) Drive Assessment test. You'll need a tape you can write to - preferably new so you can be sure it's the drive you're testing.

You could also pull a support ticket (using L&TT) and attach it to this thread. Do that after the tape has just been ejected so the event is 'fresh' in the logs. We'll take a look.
It's more interesting when it's gone wrong
