HP Ultrium 460 - Getting Tape Error LED
I have an external Ultrium 460 in which I get a Tape Error LED that is flashing when I insert a cartridge. I know that this indicates that the cartridge is faulty, however I've tried all my tapes in the drive and I get the same result.
I've tried the cleaning tape and the cleaning tape just sits and doesn't clean and won't eject. I have to manually eject the cleaning tape.
I have attached a support ticket. Can anyone verify that this dirve is shot or has some hope?
Thanks in advance!

Re: HP Ultrium 460 - Getting Tape Error LED
I wish I could do the LTO Assessment Test but every time I put a tape in the drive it the tape gets ejected within 5 seconds. I can't keep any tape inside the drive accept for a cleaning tape which actually gets stuck in the drive.

Re: HP Ultrium 460 - Getting Tape Error LED
Hi Mark,
regarding tape being ejected you can apply this fix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842411
According to the support ticket you provided, there's high polling.
Sometimes this will prevent the tape drive to accept the media.
After this is applied, you can try to reset the tape drive.
Some models has a little hole near of eject button where you can insert a paper clip to reset, or sometimes you just need to hold the eject button for 30 secs.
