Re: Installing LTO-4 Ultrium into MSL5026
I don't think you can do that...
The MSL5026 chassis is designed for SDLT drives not LTO drives. Apart from the difference in the drives, there are a different number of slots, the tape caddies are different etc.
I'll guess that you'll probably have to purchase an MSL6030 chassis.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: Installing LTO-4 Ultrium into MSL5026
and not only the chassis like Rob wrote, but new magazines also, as teh LTO Tapes and the SDLT Tapes are having different size and the slots for both types are different. Here is some Information about which tapes are used in teh Different MSL Library Models:
MSL5026 - > SDLT
MSL5052 - > SDLT
MSL6026 - > SDLT
MSL6052 - > SDLT
MSL5030 - > LTO
MSL5060 - > LTO
MSL6030 - > LTO
MSL6060 - > LTO
As the MSL5000 Series are officially not sold anymore, you'll need MSL6030 or MSL6060. You can check and buy a new Chassiss and new Magazines or chck the Prizes and buy new Library without Drives.
See what will be cheeper and better fot you.
Regards
Ivan
