Is it possible to get an LTO-2/3/4 drive to work in an MSL5030L1 library?
We have just acquired a used HP StorageWorks MSL5030L1 tape library, HP part # 301897-B22. From what I understand (it hasn't arrived yet), its tape drive is LTO-1, with 100/200GB tape capacity. Since that is pushing our backup needs, I would like to try a higher-capacity LTO drive in the library. I haven't found any info that indicates that this library will work with the LTO-2 or -3 or -4 drives, but thought I'd ask.
Appreciate any advice.
Bob

That paticular library is not very new and I am pretty sure just left support life.
LTO 2 - 4 drives did work in that library.
I would make sure it had the latest firmware 5.20.
I am assuming it is SCSI connected the FC connected version will need a new Network Storage router E1200-320.
