Lifetime of Tape Drives HP DDS-4 40GB

Does anyone know how long these tape drives are good for I know I read somewhere that some tape drives have a lifetime of 30 years but I don't know if I'm comfortable with 30 years. They have been used for at least 5 years. If someone knows or has an idea on how long these tape drives are good for I would really appreciate your help.
