I have HPUX 11i on L-class Machine.
It has a DLT IV tape drive connected, backup/restore works fine on this drive. But when i connect LTO-3 tape drive, OS doesn't recognise it.
I have tried rebooting but no luck.
I remember that i had used LTO-3 tape drive few days back on this server.
Please post your opinion and suggestions to fix this problem.
Thanks & Regards,
Druva Raj

Re: LTO-3 Tape drive issue on HP UX 11i
I tried using a different SCSI ID but same problem.

Can you see it when you do a search from BCH?
Hope this helps!

Re: LTO-3 Tape drive issue on HP UX 11i
I cannot see the drive when i run the ioscan.
I have tried searching though 'SAM--> Peripheral Devices --> Tape Drive --> Diagnose Missing Tape drive'. But nothing helped.
I will search in BCH mode and let you know.
Thanks,
Druva

Re: LTO-3 Tape drive issue on HP UX 11i
You check in output of command
#ioscan -funC tape
and to create device file
#insf -C tape
