LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS External Tape drive with RAIDED RHEL Server
Hello Expert,
Please can one use LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS External Tape drive with a RHEL server that has RAID configured on it.

Yes, technically it is possible to share tape drive and RAID disks over the same HBA but it is not best practice to do so.
The reason is, tape devices send out a lot of SCSI commands and this can cause destruction on disk data streams. Similarly, tape drive traffic, since it is usually one long continuous data stream, will try to use much the bandwidth of the HBA. If you are trying to do backups while production is running, it will affect performance.
