LTO3 Catridge 400/800

Goodday I have my new LTO3 catridge which show 800Go but i have 400Go of native capacity and compressed is 800Go .On my backup assist report i have 400Go as total disk space.i want the tape to read and have disk capacity of 800Go ?.These tapes are HP LTO3 tapes,I will need assistance all my tapes are almost full more than 80%.

You can only get 800 Gb if the data is compressible.
Do you know if you are getting more than 400 Gb?

Hi,

The 800GB capacity is based on the assumption that the data you're backing can be compressed by a ratio of 2:1.

If the files you're backing up are already compressed (Zip files, GIF files, etc) then it isn't possible to compress them any further, and you'll only get up to 400GB on a tape.

If you really need 800GB per tape consider to upgrade to LTO-4.

They data is not compressed,it raw data that is backup to the tape.before we had tapes that could read 800Go.Now the new tapes read only 400Go and no new schedule has been done.Just the tapes changed.Please need help
