LTO5/LTFS EL/Centos 6.3

Using Centos 6.3 x86_64  for testing and an LSI SAS2008

 

I am able to format and mount the LTO5 as an LTFS file system. Once mounted I can copy data to the drive but once unmounted, the drive can never be re-mounted! After trying a few different test I unformated the tape and tried to use tar.

 

tar -cf /dev/nst0 <mydir> -b 2048

 

This command also fails with an I/O error

 

Anyone else seeing this in their testing?
