How can I manipulate the robot with AIX 5.3?

Because CLI mode is very critical manipulate the robotic arm, best way U using (IBM Tivoli Storage Manager or HP Data Protector) software.

U can control robotic arm by IBM AIX 5.3, but U can not take any backup.

Then, i cant use my library without a DP or Tivoli?
I need use the library and robot, but i dont have DP,symantec NB,TSM :(

Why U need use a tape library, because U take file system & database (RMAN) backup. Without any backup software how U use tape library.
I am really sorry, I can not any help for this issue.

its work for me, the robot move the tape in mode sequential, 1,2,3,4...48.
if you want try move the robot with aix, you will need mtx and generic scsi driver(GSC).
