MSL 5052 discovery

I have a tape library (MSL 5052) connected to a NAS.
I just added another server to my MSA5000 and I want this server to see the library.

For now I can't see any library driver on that server.

I'm using win2003
The E1200 see the Host (New server)
All is FC.
I am seeing all the NAS controller on the server.

What could I do?

You say you can see the host in the E1200. What map file is the host using? What is defined in that map file?

The E1200 has a map file assigned to each host and that map file defines what devices (and on what address) the host can see.

Re: MSL 5052 discovery

WHat I see is teh Host name, The host id theport hi and low, the node high and low and the map name ( auto assigned)

I took the port and node wwn from the msa5000.

Re: MSL 5052 discovery

I forgot. On The auto assigned map I can see the msl5000, the sdlt 320 and the hp ns e1200 .

The map I use is the same as the one I was using on my old server. Which was working of course.

Re: MSL 5052 discovery

It seems that you need to have a scsi compliant server to be able to see all the library even if the connection are FC.
The main problem was that the server was sata.
I tried on a dl380 (with scsi disk) , worked the first time.
