MSL2024 (AH169A) + LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 (SCSI)

In device MSL2024 (AH169A) the streamer has broken, whether I can replace Ultrium 920 on LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 without the reference in ASC? If yes, whether it is necessary to change firmware?

Re: MSL2024 (AH169A) + LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 (SCSI)

This library supports all LTO drives from up through LTO-5.

You will need to purchase a drive upgrade kit; standalone drives cannot be used in tape libraries.

From the quickspecs, the two Ultrium 1760 drive options are

HP StorageWorks MSL LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 SAS Drive Upgrade Kit                         AK383A

HP StorageWorks MSL LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 SCSI Drive Upgrade Kit                       AJ819A

Pick the correct drive for the HBA (controller) you have.

You can use HP's Library and Tape Tools   ( http://www.hp.com/support/tapetools )

to make sure that the firmware is at the correct revision after you install the new drive.
