MSL2024 LTO 1840 Fiber help
Hello,
We have recently purchased the above mentioned tape library/drive and it is attached to a linux based server. We previously used scripts to run commands on our Sony tape drive with the help of a Sony tape control program. I am wondering if it is possible to do the same on this one. I basically want to be able to script move media, format, set compression commands. Is this at all possible and what is required to do so?
Thanks

Re: MSL2024 LTO 1840 Fiber help
Hi Mark,
You should be able to achieve that using 'mt' and 'mtx'.
mt controls tape devices
mtx controls media changers
These are not HP tools but open source tools available. Try googling the utilities.
regards,
-Eric
