Re: MSL2024 magazine clear plastic clip
I found out the answer to my question. If the small plastic clips are missing on a cell of the magazine, the tape library has problems inventorying what tapes are in what cell. Once we replaced the missing clip, all was well again.
Can the clips be purchased separately?

Re: MSL2024 magazine clear plastic clip
Hello Louann,
I am Tom. I will pick up for Curtis while he is away.
The 'clear plastic clip' is actually a plastis 'light pipe' that is used by the library's robotic controller to quickly located the position of the storage slot.
I is also used to differentiate between a 'MailSlot' and a standard storage slot. These clips are snapped into place as part of the magazine manufacturing process and they are checked for proper installation during this process.
There is not a part number for this part.
We haved not received many (none) reports of them falling. I beleive it is possible because there are so many magazines in the installed base of products.
