Somehow I've managed to land myself with the task of trying to get a wintel system with 2 x Qlogic hba cards connected through to 2 x E1200 cards in an MSL6060 library. I'm a unix admin and have setup corresponding N-classes without trouble however I'm not a wintel admin. So, where do I start please? I've looked up documentation on the web and have so far found a QLogic user guide which suggests to me I'll find the WWN Port and Node information from the BIOS. If anyone has a step by step guide for a unix admin to wintel I'd be very grateful

i'm not a windows admin either but they seem to reboot to do everything so that should find your devices when you've done the mapping ! :-)

SolutionMaybe you should upgrade your Windows 98 / Windows NT system to Windows 2003 which has a quite competent hot-plug implementation ;-)

The adapter's WWNN/WWPN values can be found without downtime if the system management home page has been installed - look for a green icon named "HP System Management Homepage" on the desktop, or just browse to:
https://server:2381/
Once you have logged in with Windows credentials - click the 'Exteral Storage Connections' link.

ipconfig/all in a dos prompt should give you the host id in hex.
