OBDR restore using Data Protector on 370 G6 results in Red screen illegal opcode

OBDR restore from USB DAT on ML370G6 results in unbootable system. Get red screen, illegal opcode. Configuration is 2x72gb drives (raid 0) attached to 410i via HP SAS Expander. Also have RDX drive installed. Have used Microlite BackupEdge for OBDR backups since Compaq 2500, 1600, 370G1-G5 - first time I tried HP Data Protector Express 4.00 SP1. Anyone ever see OBDR work with this product? On a G6?

More info. OS is SLES10 SP2. Bootable backup created successfully, the Restore proceeded without incident.

Anyone from HP read these forums?

This is DPX, not the real Data Protector, which this forum is really about. You might try the tape forum as well.

Red screen? Never heard of such a thing.

If you really need a response to your product problem, you need to log a support call, assuming you have a support contract. These forums are not any official support channel.

DPX is just Yosemite Tapeware. Any luck searching on similar reports with Tapeware?

Thanks,

There seems to be no forum for DPE single server edition.

Just curios. Check to see if the SMART ARRAY is in 1729 mode during the restore. I have that issue currently... when 1729 optimization scan is done, I don't get any illegal opcode message. I'm not using dataprotector however. I'm sending an .iso bootable image to the machine via IMAGEX.

Re: OBDR restore using Data Protector on 370 G6 results in Red screen illegal opcode

Thanks for the info....but HP Data Protector Express failed our testing (for reasons other than OBDR) and I cannot recommend its use - incorrect status messages, wrong error messages, default font makes product unviewable with any screen size/resolution, etc. Another backup/disaster recovery solution will be required.
