OpenVMS client 6.0 - assign channel system service request failed

Backup of system disk on Itanium servers failed with errors on some files (different on every server):
From: VBDA@client.name "Shadow of DSA1000" Time: 22.5.2009 0:53:46
$1$DGA2701:XDPS$INCLUDE.DIR;1
Cannot perform stat(): ( assign channel system service request failed) => not backed up.

We are using version client 6.0 build 333, OpenVMS 8.3-1H1.
DP client v5.5 build 76 on OpenVMS 7.3-2 works properly.

Re: OpenVMS client 6.0 - assign channel system service request failed

Ok so I'm going to Guess a little here.

If your using a ODS-5 write locked volume try setting the option "Do not preserve access time attributes" (select the backup > Tab "Options" > Filesystem options > Other)

From the manual

o To successfully back up write-protected and shadow disks, enable the Do not preserve access time attributes option in the backup specification.

o If the Do not preserve access time attributes option is enabled during a backup, the last accessed date will be updated with the current date and time on ODS-5 disks. On ODS-2 disks this option has no effect and all the dates remain unchanged.

Hope this helps

Thanks for reply, but I have already checked the option "Do not preserve access time attributes".
