Restoring from Data Protector 5.5 tapes under Data protector 6.10

I want to change from Data Protector 5.5 to 6.10. I have 2 version 5.5 tapes that I have to store until the middle of next year. What do I have to do so that I can restore from the 5.5 tapes under 6.10?

A catlog import may help. test it first

Thanks for the answer, but we did not an upgrade from 5.5 to 6.10. We started fresh on a new cell server. And the 5.5 cellserver is Windows 2003 R2 and the 6.10 cellserver is a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP1 (x86_64). If I put a tape from 5.5 into the 6.10 library the tape is seen as foreign. Is it then still possible to import the tape into the 6.10 database?

I am not sure compatibilit between the platforms; But i would say WR protect the media and go ahead with import

I cannot test it. I now saw that the wrong tapes were stored.
