Rough Estimate to upgrade ESL712e library from v2.6 to v3.6
Hello,
I have a customer who wants us to come in and upgrade his CVTL and firmware. He is at present running CVTLv2.6 with that firmware bundle and wants to go to current version CVTL v3.6 and firmware bundle. I know I will have to upgrade in steps
2.6 -> 2.7
2.7 -> 2.8
2.8 -> 3.0
3.0 -> 3.1
3.1 -> 3.5
3.5 -> 3.6
But how much time shall I quote the customer so he can cut a PO

Re: Rough Estimate to upgrade ESL712e library from v2.6 to v3.6
cvtl is not the problem. what is the installed version of all components? how many ic and drives and slots?
It is much faster if you update the system from CLI, not CVTL. Doing this you just need the newest CVTL version after updateing all components.
You need to pass some stages during the update (IM and robotics). Carefully read the release notes, doing something wrong may damage your system.
A fully equiped library may take 30 minutes to boot, and you need to reboot the box several times.
Most important is to know what the installed versions currently are.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Rough Estimate to upgrade ESL712e library from v2.6 to v3.6
You can go directly to the latest:
» Version: I274 (3 Dec 2012)
ESL 7.7
NSR4G 5.9.77
NSR2G 5.9.63
LTO-3 L68W
Update the IM and the robotics.
FTP the files to the IM and start the firmware update, or update using the newest CVTL version.
However, read the release notes!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
