SAN and tape library

Hi,

I have MSL6000 and DL-380 Server, last week we installed Brocade 8/24 switch and want to connect all devices using this switch.

I am able to view MSL6000 on server when directly connected to server. but when i connect it via brocade switch it is not visible to server.

Even without zone and with zone its not visible to server.

Re: SAN and tape library

I assume you have an (internal) NSR card in the library - you need to create a mapping in order to allow access from the server.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: SAN and tape library

Hi

Like Torsten said, you must do mapping inside NSR between SCSI addresses and WWN.

Otherwise, you test that from Brocade you see both devices correctly.

Re: SAN and tape library

You are right. its internal NSR. I am logged in to NSR. but need some help to map.

I dont know how to map. In Discovery i am getting the following

There are no devices attached to this port at this time.
SCSI BUS 0 DEVICES

Bus Target ID LUN ID Device Type State Map Count Device Description
0 0 0 CHGR UP 0 HP MSL6000 Series 0520
0 1 0 TAPE UP 0 HP Ultrium 2-SCSI F59W

SCSI BUS 1 DEVICES
