Screenshots for HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 Autoloader OCP/LED
Hello Gents,
I am working on a project where I have:
- No access to the Tape Libraries.
- No access to the server where it is installed.
- No access to the HP DataProtect from where backup is be taken to be stored on the tapes.
Below is the configuration:
- HP StoreEver 1/8 G2 LTO-4 Ultrium 1760 Autoloader
- Directly attached to server with external SCSI
- 1 x LTO4 drive
- 8 x LTO4 tapes
The ask is, that there is no support personal at the client side so we have to provide them the steps to change the tapes once a week.
The problem is that web interface of the Tape Library is not provisioned, hence a person has to go to the library physically,, eject the drive and change the tapes.
Now we do have the steps to do the above however we need the screenshots to show the same as they are find it difficult to follow the steps which are mentioned.
Steps are below which I believe are from the HP documentation:
5.1 Releasing a tape cartridge magazine
- From the OCP/LED (local)
- From the HOME screen, click NEXT until the screen displays OPERATIONS, click ENTER
- Enter the 8 digit admin code ‘xxxxxxxx’
- Click NEXT until the screen displays UNLOCK LEFT/RIGHT MAGAZINE, click ENTER to release the magazine out of the device.
- This will take a few seconds for the lock mechanism to release. The screen will display MAGAZINE UNLOCKED. Pull the magazine.
- On reinsert, the magazine will auto lock; follow the process again for the other magazine if the tape was not found in the first magazine.
Expectation is, expand the instructions above with screenshots/diagrams and in a format easily consumable, assuming the end-customer with little technical knowledge will be running through this process.
Thanks in advance.

Connect a network cable.
The library will get a DHCP address and you can release the magazines from remote.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Sorry but that won't work for us. As I mentioned that there is no person at the client side to do that stuff and we are remote.
Thanks anyways.
