Slow Backups on SAS Tape Autoloader
This is what my architecture is: there are 6 servers and 4 PC's that I am backing up and they are connected to a backup server through LAN (10/100).
Thanks

Re: Slow Backups on SAS Tape Autoloader
Ive found the best performance using Veritas drivers.
Also stop and disable the Removable Storage Service in Windows.
I have a customer with an LTO3 autoloader with 10d that gets upto 2GB/Min throughput so you can do better...

Re: Slow Backups on SAS Tape Autoloader
I have RSM disabled and I did a LTT performance test and I got a throughput of almost 73MB/s. Here is how I back up...
Once production finishes I start back up using backup exec. It pulls data through LAN and then sends it to the autoloader...
@TapeDrive killer
I am attaching a ticket here...

Re: Slow Backups on SAS Tape Autoloader
Drive is able to read and write... Plus the Performance test is good... The Drive by all means looks good to me...
