Storageworks Ultrium 215 LED errors
Hi There
I Have a problem on the Storageworks Ultrium 215 tape drive. The drive LED's flashes as follows:
First, the "Tape Error" and the "Clean" LED flashes simultaneously. I then load a cleaning cartridge, and after eject the LED's change to the "Clean" LED and the "Ready" LED both remaining on. I ran diagnotsics with the L&TT (LTO Drive Assessment Test), but it fails with errors that the Drive needs cleaning. I then load the cleaning cartridge again, but it doesnt resolve the problem. I cant run any tests on the drive because it constantly gives errors relating to the drive needing cleaning, and after cleaning, still the same errors.
ANy help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Storageworks Ultrium 215 LED errors
Hi,
You can try updating the firmware of the drive once. If that is also not hapening then the drive has developed some mechanical issue. you will have to contact HP services
Regards
Raj

Hi There
Thanks for your reply. I have already done a firmware upgrade but I still get the errors. Guess i'll have to take it to Hp product repairs to have them sort it out.
Thanks anyways!
