I have removed all the camera software, uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software but nothing seems to work. I use Windows 98. I have spent DAYS on the HP site trying to find anything and I have phoned the HP support but no one seems to be able to help. Any ideas? I need to backup accounts every day...HELP
TIA

Re: T3000 Problem
You are using, what, Colorado 4 or 6 ?
Is this an external or an internal device
What do you mean by 'won't work' ?? Can it not be found in device manager, can it not be foud in the software, will not backup ??
cheers
John
You've only had this drive 3 years ... it must be older than that surely !

Re: T3000 Problem
I get to stage 2 of backup....select files, select tape, the tape is recognised but it won't progress to stage 3. I get the error message and Backup closes down.

Re: T3000 Problem
I looked around on Microsoft's site and couldn't find a reference to the error you're getting. However, one thing that has worked for me in the past is to uninstall the software, reboot, and reinstall the software in safe mode. This might help you get through the issues you are having.
Hope this helps!

Re: T3000 Problem
Thanks for the suggestion. I went into safe mode and uninstalled the software but my computer doesn't recognise my CD Drive when I am in safe mode????....My computer shows hard drive and floppy drive only.
I re booted and loaded the software normally but I still get the error message. I did try backing up to floppy but I got the same error message. I guess that rules out a physical problem with my tape drive? I wonder is it a Windows problem rather than a Colorado one? One other thing, I removed all the Camera software but there is still a Digital Camera Icon showing on My Computer which I can't remove. When I right click I just get an option to OPEN, Explore or create shortcut, neither of which work.
Thanks again
Robert

Re: T3000 Problem
Sorry! I forgot to mention that you'll probably want to copy the installation files onto the hard drive from the CD before trying to install in safe mode. . .

Re: T3000 Problem
Well, I hate to recommend a reformat/reinstall because it seems like a cop-out sometimes, but since I can't find this error message either, it might be worth a try. Hopefully you have some additional way of saving important data in the meantime. Sorry I couldn't find anything for you!
Cheers,
Jeff
