tape OR system problem

everyday i backup our DATa(telecomm Company)
manytimes i have to clean the tape(using C5709A) after i receive a massage(Archeive failed- function to write to tape failed code-1 errno 5)please reply if you have anyway solution(the tape is C8010A.
