Tape replacements

How often do the tapes that are used in tape drives need to be replaced?

If the client for example has 2 sets of 5 tapes, 1 set per week, daily backups (1 tape per day)

It's been about a year and a half since they got the server and such.

Replacement time possible?

This depends on the tape technology (e.g. DDS, Ultrium, etc).

Okay, so basically the site you gave me says the following;

Number of full backups: 260
Number of passes: 1,000 000
Archival period: 30 years
