Tape struck on the DDS 3 DAT Drive

Hi,

How can I remove the struck tape without damaging the data tape and the DAT Drive ?

1. push the eject button for 15 sec
2. power down the server wait 30 sec and power up again

if these actions do not allow the tape to be ejected, there is no other way to safely remove the tape

there is no other method you can use in the field, opening the device cover can help you identifying what happens, then try to remove the tape carefully checking the tape path if you can make the device to lift up the cartridge ready to be ejected.

Hello. I have a tape stuck in a Compaq 12/24 SCSI DAT tape drive. Is there anyway to mauaually eject the tape?

I too have a AIT 35 tape drive which will not eject the tape.

Other then dismantling the drive is there another way of removing the tape?

Go into device manager and disable the device. Then try to eject it.
