The Library is busy performing an operation initiated from an external source

Dear all,

I am having a tape library MSL 6060. When i powering the library it is showing the error messahe "the library is busy performing an operation initiated by external source". i remoived all the scsi and FC cables. Still the problem is there.


plase provide me some tips to solve the issue.

There is a recessed reset button on each of the interface cards that can be reset with a Library Access Tool (or use a straightened paper clip). With the library powered on, hold that button down for 5-10 seconds, and see if this clears things up.

I believe you will get an error if you don't have proper termination, but I don't think it is *this* error.

If the reset doesn't help, can you connect to the library with Library and Tape Tools (free download from http://www.hp.com/go/tape , look for the link under "value add software")? What happens when you select the library and run diagnostics?
