Ultrium 1/8 G2 Autoloader and WORM Cartdrige

Hi all,
i have a problem using my Ultrium 1/8 G2 Autoloder and the WORM cartdrige. I can move the loader using mtx -f /dev/sg1 but if i try tar -cvf /dev/nst0 /var/log i receive an Input/Output error. i have tryed using /dev/sg0, /dev/st0 but i always receive the same error.
The mt status with tape loaded is
