ultrium firmware upgrade

We have a tape ultrium tape drive , its firmware D2D , and wanted to use it with D24W fimware but it did not accept on menu selectable column indicated an error "wrong personality"

we used LTT to manage to tape drive as management interface..

Any idea how can we do that ?

Re: ultrium firmware upgrade

I don't know what tape drive you have, but each type of drive has its own firmware.

Your D24W version doesn't fit to your drive!

Hope this helps!

Re: ultrium firmware upgrade

we have ultrium3 LTO 920 tape drive, it is standalone and want to put it on autoloader drive, hardware seems to be compatible. However autoloader gives unsupported drive warning, but it functions correctly while backing up.

This is why we need to upgrade with firmware to D24W (=autoloader 1/8 G2 tape drive firmware)

Re: ultrium firmware upgrade

Obviously you cannot put the standalone drive into the autoloader!

Only a drive designed for the autoloader can be used in the autoloader.

Hope this helps!

Re: ultrium firmware upgrade

Hi

if you drop me a mail i might be able to help by exchanging your stand alone drive for a library drive or by repairing your existing library drive.
