Re: Upgrade DP from 4.0 sp1 to 5.0
Looks like problem with Backup device
Which backup device that's being used ?
OS ?
Backup type ?
If you are using library or 1/8 autoloader, make sure media changer/library and tape drive both are detected fine on the post as well as in device manager.
If they are detected fine.
then follow these steps :
1. Stop all the backup software services.
2. Update the backup device driver and firmware.
3. power cycle the devices
4. restart backup services and Create a new backup job to be run on new media.
Still got issue
test with Native OS backup software
or
Run the Library and tape tool software to identify any problem with HP backup device.
hope this helps,
aftab

Re: Upgrade DP from 4.0 sp1 to 5.0
Hi there,
This is due to Media is not selected in the back JOB
You may try these steps to fix the issue :
Open the HP Data Protector Express Software.
Select the Jobs and Media item in the Favorites deskbar.
Expand the Admin folder.
Right-click the corresponding job and select Properties .
In the Properties window of the job, select Devices and Media in the left column.
On the Devices and Media page, highlight the item listed in the Devices box, and select the Delete button at the bottom of this window.
Select the Add button at the bottom of this box.
Expand the Network item (click the + on the left of it).
Expand the name of the computer with the necessary device attached to it (click the + on the left of it).
Select the actual device (highlight it by clicking it once).
Click OK in this window.
Click OK in the backup job Properties window.
hope this helps,
thanks,
aftab
