used tape backup

Hi, We at office use Ultrium 448 drives with 400 GB tape on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. So the backup are scheduled as corn job on Webmin as daily process, for six month it was perfect. We decided to use Data Protector Express 3.5 SP2 because it have more features can be used, so after installation we start test backup with blank tape and went ok and we do the backup as weekly rotation and we used the old used tapes that we used with corn job on Webmin. we try to erase and format tapes but it always give Error 1400: Alert - Wrong media, can i have help with prober process to set used tape for backup and do rotation each work day for tow sets>

Hi Hussam,

Error 1400 is the media assigned and available didn't match.

In the job --> device & media section --> in the bottom window you have the media selected for that pirticular backup job. You have to ensure that the same media is inserted into the drive before the backup starts. or do not specify any media in the job and insert a blank media into the drive
