My facility just inherited an HP CTL700 (actually, it is branded as a Sun L700e, but they are one and the same inside).
It has been awhile since I've worked with tape libraries of this type, and I'm used to using HP Data Protector. Is there any GNU or open source ware that can run this unit's robot and tape drives?

Solution
I think HP and Sun versions are basically StorageTek L700 OEM versions.
It looks like the software to use with this library are
Silo Media Manager on Non-Stop
Automated Cartridge System Library sofware on Unix.
I see DP supporting STK L700 and STK L700E. It may work with CTL700. I would try it anyway.

Re: What software to use with an CTL700e?
The latest Amanda supports this unit, as well as the latest iteration of Linux mt/mtx tools.
