HP B Series SAN Switch OS upgrade Silkworm 300

Hi Guys,
I hope you could help me further?

I want to upgrade my Silkworm 300 San switches, but I am wondering about the FOS Versions I found on HPE Download site.

We are currently running on v6.4.3.f and I will upgrade  to latest v7.4 Versions.

The following Versions I found:
v7.0.2.e
v7.1.2.b
v7.2.1
v7.3.2.b
v7.4.2.a

Could I upgrade that way without any interruption on the FC ports?

Finally I am wondering about v7.2.1 which seems to be older than v7.1.2.b so I am getting worry to update to v7.2.1 when coming from v7.1.2.b?!

How should I proceed here?

I'm not sure what the name of your switch is in "HPE speak", but in fact you can update in small steps (7.0 to 7.1 to 7.2 ...) more or less online or skip a step (7.0 to 7.2 ro 7.4) if you do a complete reboot after a firmware download.

Hi Torsten,

thanks for your replay....HP Called these switches. "HP StorageWorks 8/24 SAN Switch" which are finally Brocade Silkworm 300 SAN switches.

But I think you are right, best would be to skip 7.2.1 an go from 7.1 to 7.3 and accept a boot finally a downtime of the switch.

firmwaredownload -s

once the secondary version shows the new version (firmwareshow), reboot the switch.
