We currently utilize a number of StoreOnces (5650 and 5660) being used as a storage destination (catalysts) for both Veeam and CommVault enterprise backup applications. We are anticipating within a 6 month period, several of these StoreOnces will be relocated to a COLO.
Just curious of recommendations of prepping the StoreOnces for such an event?

SolutionHello J0hnB0y,
Step 1 - Note the SAS cables and how they are connected Label them Neatly. (Take pictures as many as you can so that you may refer to them)
Step 2 - Make a Note of the FC/Ethernet connectors Label them Neatly. (Take pictures as many as you can so that you may refer to them)
Step 3 - Acquire the new ILO and GUI IP address for each unit at the new location beforehand. Engage the local network team to prep beforehand.
Step 4 - Power Down the Unit gracefully from the GUI. Then disconnect the power cables from each disk enclosure and remove the other cables (Already labeled).
Step 5 - Do not mix and match the Nodes and disk enclosures while shipping make sure you pack them and label them mixing may cause data loss when you power them up at the new location
Step 6 - To Power Up, first Power on the Disk enclosures, wait about 10 minutes, then power on the Head Unit.
Refer to this cabling guide -
Refer to this Systems Installation Guide as well ----

So in Nutshell key to this is Proper and timely Planning Nice labeling and packing things properly and lots of patience.
I wish you Good Luck.
