Hi,
We have replced a disk, and the rebuikd is complete.
How can we now start the PARITY INIT Proces? The Alarm is still visisble wit the original date so apparantly the process did not run yet. Also in the logs I do not see it mentione as running, only the old fail alram is visible.
Or os there another way to clear the alarm?

Re: Follow on to E01000502: EID_PARITY_INIT_FAILED . Start PArity Init
Hi,
unfortunately the only way is to reconfigure the raid while in repair mode.

So replacing the disk was not the solution? We need to rebuild array 1?

Re: Follow on to E01000502: EID_PARITY_INIT_FAILED . Start PArity Init
When we start the procedure, we get the choice:
a. This is a Disk problem
b. This is a Storage System Problem
c. Not Sure
We selectt b. "a storage system problem"
We then get the response
The storage system is operating normally and cannot be repaired using the Repair Storage System Process
So how to continue now??

SolutionHi HanCas,
the replacement of the drive was one of the steps.
You have to stop the store and stop the manager before you can put the node in repair. Please follow the How to
article.
To have a recent backup of the Data on Luns is strongly recommended, before you proceed!
With the repair and reconfigure raid you delete all data on this node, so it will have to resync the data with the
remaining node(s) after the repair and exchange back to it's place in the cluster.

Re: Follow on to E01000502: EID_PARITY_INIT_FAILED . Start PArity Init
From a similar outage at another customer we recieved instructions from HPe on how to initialise the parity on a Node
Please find the below action plan for parity initialization failed .
Action Plan :
1.Stop the manager running on the node.
2.Open putty and put the IP address of the node with port 16022
3. Login using CMC credentials
4.Type the command : utility run="servicectl dbd_store stop" utility
5. Right click the node and select repair storage system and select the second option and click ok.
6.Then the node would be under available systems.
7. Right click Storage, select Reconfigure RAID.
8.Then right click on node storage and select add to management group.
9.Then check if this node is part of any sites.
10.Right click site and edit site and continue and then add ok ok
11.Right click on the cluster and select edit cluster and select exchange cluster storage system and select and exchange storage system .
